Gregory T. Brewers

Gregory T. “Greg” Brewers practices primarily in the area of family and matrimonial law and is the managing partner of the firm. He has a broad background in family law, criminal defense, municipal law, business law, and estate planning, though for the past 15 years his primary focus has been family law — including divorce, child custody, child support, and alimony.

Greg graduated from St. John’s University in 1991 with a degree in Social Science and from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1994. He was admitted to the South Dakota State Bar in 1995 and, in 1996, to the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. He served as a law clerk for South Dakota’s Seventh Judicial Circuit Court before beginning his Sioux Falls practice in 1996; over ninety percent of his practice is now devoted to divorce and child custody disputes.

In 2016, Greg was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) — one of only three attorneys in South Dakota to earn the distinction. He has represented clients on more than 40 appeals to the South Dakota Supreme Court and has been an active trial attorney for more than 20 years.
